Outdoor SunSpaces News

Our glass garden rooms are created to offer our customers the ultimate combination of style and functionality, allowing them to easily a merge their indoor space with their garden, to create a comforting and relaxing area. Glass also has many advantages over other types of garden rooms and extensions, which make it the best choice for your home, here are just a few of them:

An Abundance of Light

Our glass garden rooms allow you to enjoy the full beauty of your outdoor surroundings, by minimising the boundaries between your home and garden. The large glass panels let in light and allow you to enjoy both the comfort of being indoors, as well as the sense of well-being and tranquillity that comes from spending time outside. It will also prevent your new garden room from feeling cramped and crowded, by creating an enhanced sense of space and unity.

A Harmonious Transition

Another benefit of purchasing a glass garden room, aside from the space and light, is the ease with which you will be able to match the new addition to your existing home. Other garden rooms or extensions run the risk of looking mismatched or at odds with your existing architecture, and can even distract from its original aesthetic. Our glass garden rooms seek to enhance your home, working with its current shape and form to create a fresh look, which makes the most of the original design rather than obscuring it.

A Space for Shelter

Glass verandas are ideal for those who like to entertain at home, as well as families who want to use their outdoor space to it's full potential. Without making your garden feel clustered or closed-in, glass verandas can provide you with a comfortable shelter in the changeable British weather, giving you a space to relax in and retreat to. Glass side panels also provide a barrier from the cool breeze, making them an ideal haven when your garden party starts to wind down in the evening.

As we have noted many times in the past, our Garden Rooms are a great way to improve both your indoor and outdoor space, providing you with an attractive area for relaxing and indulging in your favourite pastimes.

We often get questions from customers about the size of the space they have to work with, as they worry that their outdoor area isn't big enough to accommodate one of our contemporary garden rooms. If you are one of those people, or if you're simply curious about the variety of ways in which you can integrate our designs into your space,  take a look at some of these suggestions:

A Cosy Patio Nook

As you can see from the design below, it is possible for a contemporary garden room to fit a small area without looking crowded. The open design of this room gives an unrestricted view of the garden, avoiding any sense of restriction while also providing a cosy shelter with easy access to the garden.

A Bright and Open Family Space

This bright, minimal garden room provides a useful and attractive, multi-functional space, making it the perfect place for entertaining the family. By tracing the house horizontally instead of outwards, the room makes excellent use of space without taking up too much of lawn or distracting from the house itself.

A Spacious Reading Room

This light and spacious garden room cleverly wraps around the original shape of the property; providing the owner with lots of additional space without extending too far into the garden. The inclusion of sleek, sliding, glass walls also means that the occupants can easily access their garden, while it also ensures that there is an abundance of light in the room; enough for a relaxing reading session!

A Tranquil Escape

As well as home extensions, we also provide a range of detached, contemporary garden rooms. These are ideal if you would like your space to provide a refreshing escape from the rest of your home, and also allow you to create an independent, unique seating area in your garden. As you can see from the image below, this works brilliantly next to a water feature, allowing you to listen to the sounds of the water as you unwind.

A Sheltered Seating Area

Even in very small spaces, our contemporary garden rooms can provide an attractive and convenient shelter. As demonstrated by the veranda below, our rooms can be tailored to create a smooth and harmonious transition between the existing shape of the home and your new structure.

Wicker Chairs and Loungers

Wicker is a classic material for garden rooms, thanks to its lightweight, natural look. Due to it's popularity, it's also extremely easy to find a range of options to suit both your taste and budget; allowing you to perfectly match your pieces with your garden room.

Rustic Benches

If you're using your garden room as a hobby space, benches are a great way to add simple functionality to your work area. They can also provide a brilliant place to store all your tools and nick nacks if you invest in a piece with inbuilt storage.

Beautiful Dining Sets

Using your garden room as a dining space is always a great idea, thanks to its versatility during both summer and winter months. Whether you want to use deckchairs or modern dining room furniture, there are a multitude of ways that you can style your dining area to make it work for you.

One of the most popular uses for our structures is as a garden office room, and it isn't difficult to see why. Not only does it provide you the convenience of a dedicated, at-home work area, it also allows you to watch the world go by as you complete your tasks, placing you in a non-clinical working environment.

If you're thinking of purchasing one of our garden rooms with a view to using it as an office, or if you already have a garden room you're looking to use in this way, we have a few suggestions to help you turn it into an attractive and functional work station!

Cool Planters

While you may think that being in your garden is more than enough greenery for you, house plants can be a simple and attractive way to add some colour to any office. It also allows you to bring the outside in, creating a sense of unity and harmony between the two spaces.

We love these, modern, minimal planters, both from Etsy! The one on the right is from Pasinga, and the one on the left is from Sort London.

Get Organized

While this may seem like a more practical suggestion, that doesn't mean that it has to be boring! There are lots of cool storage accessories available these days, allowing you to keep everything in its place while adding some nice touches to your decor scheme.
This hanging copper basket from Henry & Future is ideal for keeping notebooks and letters safe, while this wooden organiser from Chocolate Creative is great for storing notes, gadgets and pens!

It all Starts With a Desk

Again, this may seem pretty obvious, but there are so many different designs available that it may be hard to make a choice! Depending on your needs, you could go for something minimal and modern that compliments the rest of your space, or you could go for a design that gives you lots of storage and handy segmenting abilities.

The Micke Workstation from Ikea is ideal for people who need a lot of storage, giving you space for, books, files and whatever decorative pieces that take your fancy. This Puro desk from Dwell is certainly one for the image-led, although you always have the freedom to add your own desktop and side table storage if you wish.

Bring me Coffee

Lets face it, if you're going to be using somewhere to work, you're going to need a hot beverage to get you through (no matter how nice your space is). Like everything featured on this post, we think that coffee breaks can be as stylish as they are essential.

Want to keep that shiny, new desk stain free? Use these pretty, copper coasters from Mia Fleur. This Cafetiere from Lakeland is also a great vessel to serve up your brew of choice in!
